It’s Sunday afternoon, the last day before I go back to work and I’m trying to convince myself that it’s not all that bad. The holidays were good: besides all the cooking for Christmas and Old Year’s eve, I built a puzzle, played with puppies and gardened a lot.
The puppies have grown stacks – they’re all most as big as Mutty now and they have all eventually started playing together. Marc took a video of them yesterday evening and we realized today that yesterday they were all 13 (puppies at 13 weeks, Mutty at 13 years!). The cats still hate them and little kitty’s nose is still out of joint for not being the youngest animal in the house but they’ll eventually get on (or at least not try to kill each other everytime they’re in close proximity).
So, the cooking started again. I find that having prepared meals that just have to be shoved into the oven help during the week. At least then I can do something “nice” when I come home. Not that I mind cooking, I really do enjoy it, it’s just that my current style requires an hour or more to get the meal prepared, not to mention the oven time!
Okay, I’m off to skin beetroot and will post pictures soon. (The movie I mentioned is available on you-tube)
